What Exactly Can We Do for You and Fido?

We can do ANYTHING related to the training of your dog. However, for the cost involved, I do not recommend using me for basic puppy training. I certainly can help you with that, but there are many good puppy classes out there that can show you the same thing I would at a much reduced price. Here are some of the solutions I can bring to your home:

Basic Obedience:

  • Based on compulsion, leadership, and positive reinforcement, I will teach you to teach your dog to heel, sit, down, stay, and come when called.

Problem mitigation and correction:

  • excessive barking
  • destructive behavior
  • aggressive towards other dogs/animals
  • nervousness/anxiety/fear
  • nipping/mouthing/chewing
  • jumping
  • pulling on leash
  • aggressive towards children/women/men
  • not listening to basic commands

Advanced obedience:

  • Protection (This training teaches your dog to defend and protect you and your family on command and when needed. This will not teach your dog to be aggressive. However, it will teach you how to control your dog more effectively by the use of proper commands. The personal protection training does not take away the dog’s ability to be a friendly and social member of your family!)
  • Scent detection (bombs, drugs, cadaver, bugs, etc.)
  • Tracking (search and rescue, etc.)
  • Agility training
  • Therapy and Assistance

OK…
How Much Is This Going To Run Me?

I charge a flat fee per session which runs a minimum of one hour. And being that I travel to your home, my fee is calculated by how far I have to drive

We have nothing to hide and do not alter the prices “depending” on who we’re talking to.

The pricing is as follows (as per Google Maps):

$60
<15.0 mi. of Cohocton, NY

+$0.50/mile
each additional mile (roundtrip) after the first 15 miles beyond Cohocton, NY

It Sounds Expensive!

It might, but compare me to those trainers of equal and extensive experience. Over the years, I have found many trainers who charge the same rates but only spend 45 minutes or so with the client. My price is per session with a MINIMUM of 60 minutes. Many trainers will require a minimum number of sessions (which is also crazy! One can never know how many sessions it will take to properly train both the dog and its owner…I can usually do it in one session). Or the cheaper and less experienced trainers who say “Well, I can’t do THAT!” or "Your dog can't be trained" in regards to your pet’s problem.

And then take a look at it all on a practical side. If you have a dog who bites and is aggressive, isn’t it worth paying for a qualified trainer who can correct the problem versus paying for a lawsuit if your dog bites someone and sends that person to the hospital? Or the cost of having to replace furniture, carpeting, clothing, etc. with a destructive chewer in the house? Or the peace of mind of not having the neighbors call the cops for your dog who won’t stop barking?
